How To Draw A Realistic Balloon
How to Draw A Cartoon Balloon filled with fun effects
This simple drawing lesson will show you how to draw a cartoon balloon! Hot air balloons are a fun alternative for those who likes to fly in the sky! This slow and quiet flying object might seem fragile and dangerous.
But don't worry! Today's balloons are built with tough fabrics and are able to fly for a certain amount of time! Let's see how we could draw a nice hot air balloon in eight easy steps!
Step 1
First, draw a nice oval shape to create the top of the balloon. Then, draw a rectangle under the oval shape. Make sure that this new shape is narrower on the bottom.
Step 2
Near the opening of the balloon, draw two rectangles to illustrate the burner. The rectangle on the bottom should be smaller and thinner.
Step 3
For the basket, just sketch a square with the top being larger. The top of the basket should be the same width as the opening of the balloon.
Step 4
Refine the outline of your balloon. Don't worry if your shape is not quite the same as mine. Balloons can come in various shapes (like animals or objects) so even if your balloon if not perfectly oval, it still looks realistic!
Step 5
Work on the outline of the burner (by creating softer edges) and add a few bumps on the basket to make it look handmade.
Step 6
Add some lines on the basket, on the balloon and between both objects to create the ropes.
Step 7
Put some colors on your drawing to give life to it.
Step 8
If you feel like it, add some shadows to complete your illustration. Congratulations! You've just drawn a nice and simple hot air balloon. It's not a difficult object to create, but it can be tricky to draw it accurately with realistic proportions. More vehicles are available below. I hope you had fun and enjoy!
